Technology-Driven Skin Health .
At The Derm Clinic, we integrate leading diagnostic and imaging technologies to elevate the safety, precision, and outcomes of every treatment. From vascular mapping with Clarius ultrasound to in-depth skin analysis using the VISIA, our approach combines clinical assessment with tools that support informed, individualised care. These technologies help us assess accurately, plan effectively, and support your skin’s long-term health with clarity and consistency.
Skin Imaging with VISIA Skin Analysis:
At The Derm Clinic we use the VISIA™ Skin Analysis System, a state-of-the-art imaging platform that elevates your consultation from subjective observation to objective, data-driven assessment.
VISIA uses high-resolution, multi-spectral imaging to capture detailed photographs of your skin from multiple angles. It combines standard, cross-polarised and UV light sources to reveal both surface-level and subsurface skin conditions that cannot be seen with the naked eye. This technology allows us to assess key parameters of skin health, including areas of pigmentation, texture irregularities, wrinkles and fine lines, pore size, vascularity, UV-induced damage, and porphyrins (bacterial markers) with precision.
VISIA provides a comprehensive and measurable baseline of your skin’s condition that supports truly personalised treatment planning. By identifying concerns beneath the surface such as early sun damage, uneven tone, or vascular changes. This enables us to recommend the most appropriate combination of clinical treatments and home care.
The VISIA system evaluates and quantifies:
Pigmentation and brown spots
Redness and vascular concerns
Texture and pore size
Wrinkles and fine lines
UV damage beneath the surface
Porphyrins (evidence of bacterial markers)
Your results are presented in an easy-to-interpret report, often with comparison against age-matched benchmarks, giving insight into both current condition and potential progression over time.
The VISIA is an integral part of your medical skin consultation. The detailed imaging enables us to:
Diagnose underlying concerns that may not yet be visible
Personalise treatment recommendations based on real data
Track your skin’s progress over time with repeat scans
Educate and involve you in decisions about your care
This level of assessment aligns with our evidence-based approach, ensuring that your treatment plan is safe, targeted, effective, and aligned with your long-term skin health goals.
Advanced Ultrasound Imaging for Safer Injectable Treatments
At The Derm Clinic, your safety and outcomes are at the forefront of every treatment. We are proud to incorporate Clarius high-resolution ultrasound technology into selected cosmetic procedures.
Why ultrasound in aesthetics?
While soft tissue fillers are widely used for facial rejuvenation, they carry risks, particularly vascular complications like occlusion or, in rare cases, visual disturbance. These complications can occur because facial blood vessels vary in location from person to person, and are not visible beneath the skin during injections.
Ultrasound improves safety and confidence by allowing real-time visualisation of underlying facial structures. This non-invasive imaging technology enables us to:
Map individual vascular anatomy before or during filler procedures.
Identify and avoid critical blood vessels, reducing the risk of vascular compromise.
Locate previous filler placement- helpful for clients seeking correction, reversal or experiencing concerns post-treatment.
Support early diagnosis and treatment in the unlikely event of a complication.
Ultrasound is a safe, radiation-free tool that enhances the precision of aesthetic medicine. Its use reflects our commitment to delivering individualised treatments that prioritise safety and efficacy.
